Material Analysis of Metal Stamping Processing

Metal stamping parts refer to workpieces of the required shape and size obtained by processing metals such as gold, silver, copper, iron, and tin. Different structural and functional requirements are produced using different materials. In the stamping process, commonly used materials are stainless steel, steel, brass, cold rolled sheet, aluminum, aluminum alloy and the like. Each material has different characteristics and each has its own advantages and disadvantages.

 

Commonly used metal materials are introduced as follows:

 

stainless steel

SUS304 stainless steel is the most common type of stainless steel. Its production and use account for about 70% of total stainless steel production and consumption. It can withstand 800 degrees high temperature, has stable performance and high toughness, and is widely used in industrial and home decoration industries. Heavy weight and high cost.

 

Aluminum alloy

The aluminum alloy is an alloy material composed of one or several other elements based on pure aluminum. The main alloying elements are magnesium, silicon, copper, zinc and manganese, which have low density, but high strength, strong plasticity, excellent electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity and corrosion resistance. Zinc alloy

Common alloying elements for zinc alloys are low-temperature zinc alloys such as aluminum, magnesium, cadmium, lead, and titanium. Zinc alloy has low melting point, good fluidity, easy die-casting, and good mechanical properties and wear resistance at room temperature. Low cost, heavy weight and poor dimensional stability.

 

steel

In steel production, the proportion of carbon steel used is quite large. Carbon steel has good mechanical properties and process performance, and is easy to smelt and cheap. It can meet the requirements of use under normal conditions, so it is widely used.

 

copper

Copper is a non-ferrous metal material with many excellent properties. Such as high conductivity and thermal conductivity, low density, good mechanical properties and process properties. The more commonly used alloy copper is brass. Brass has good resistance to seawater and atmospheric corrosion, and its processing performance is better.

 

Cold rolled sheet

The cold-rolled sheet has good performance, is easy to be electroplated and coated, has many varieties, has wide application, and has high punching performance. Mainly used in automotive, construction, and other industries.
